Transparency
Glass is allowed to look like glass. Clear, honest and visually uncomplicated.
Glassology is a design-led glass bottle brand focused on transparent borosilicate glass water bottles for modern everyday life in Malaysia.
Our approach is simple: remove what is unnecessary, refine what remains, and create objects that feel natural to use every day.
Discover our story ↓Think about the glass in your grandmother’s kitchen. The cup you’ve been using for years. Or that one bottle you always bring with you, no matter where you go. They are ordinary things, but somehow, they stay with us. Years ago, people used to keep things for much longer. A good glass could last for generations. A bottle was washed and reused, not thrown away after a single drink. Things were made to serve a purpose, and people took care of what they owned. Somewhere along the way, our habits changed. We became surrounded by things that are convenient to buy, easy to replace and even easier to throw away. We barely notice how much we consume until we see how much we leave behind.
And that made us think. Why have we become so comfortable with throwing things away? Why should something we use every single day have such a short life? That question became the beginning of Glassology. We were drawn to glass because of how familiar and honest it feels. It doesn’t need bright colours or complicated designs to be beautiful. You can see through it, feel its weight and appreciate it for exactly what it is. And unlike so many things we use today, a well-made piece of glass can remain part of our lives for years. Nature was another reason we started. The more we looked at the world around us, the more we realised how much we take from it without thinking. We wanted to build something that would remind us to consume a little less, reuse a little more and appreciate the things we already have. Not everyone can change the world in a big way. We certainly don’t pretend that a glass bottle alone can save the planet.
But we do believe that small habits matter. A bottle you refill instead of replacing. A glass you keep because you love using it. Something you choose carefully today and still enjoy years later. That is what we want Glassology to be about. We don’t want to create things that people buy simply because they look beautiful on a shelf. We want to make things that become part of someone’s life — at the breakfast table, beside a favourite book, on a working desk or during a quiet moment at the end of the day. And perhaps, years from now, that same glass will still be there. Because the best things in life are not always the newest things. Sometimes, they are the things worth keeping. Glassology — Clarity by Design.
Good design is not always about adding more. Sometimes the strongest decision is knowing what to leave out.
From the shape of a bottle to the way it fits into a daily routine, Glassology is guided by three simple principles.
Glass is allowed to look like glass. Clear, honest and visually uncomplicated.
We remove unnecessary visual noise and focus attention on form, proportion and use.
A beautiful object should still make sense when it becomes part of everyday life.
Glassology focuses on borosilicate glass water bottles because the material complements the brand's approach to transparent, reusable and visually simple everyday objects.
Rather than hiding the material, the design celebrates its clarity and uses it as part of the bottle's visual identity.
